Communication is the key to maximizing and leveraging the functionalities of various workflow components such as CRM, marketing, accounting, inventory management, and estimation capabilities within a construction entity. However, these components in most construction firms are siloed, creating a need for technological solution sets such as the one developed by ProDBX that lays the foundation for a connected working space. ProDBX combines the aforementioned disparate workflow elements into a unified platform, exclusively for construction companies. “Our platform ensures accurate and real-time communication among customers, partners, and subcontractors, in addition to streamlining some of the crucial construction processes,” begins Van Hansen, president and CEO of ProDBX.

Designed using cloud architecture, the ProDBX suite serves as a ‘master record’ for all kinds of entries made by individuals in a construction workflow. It addresses discrete needs such as accounting, automation, configurable CRM, inventory management, point of sale (POS), project management, and task management. Hansen refers to these elements of the ProDBX suite as a corporate memory that facilitates access to business entries, worker communication, and customer engagement. A noteworthy feature of the ProDBX suite is the integrated Email app that offers a streamlined and templatized approach to interacting with industry peers, allowing the broadcast of digital contracts and forms. Such contracts are tracked continuously, notifying the sender of the emails when they are received or opened.

In addition to all these feature sets, one particular module of the unified suite—the ProDBX Easy Estimating app— serves as the key differentiating factor for the company in terms of optimizing the construction workflow. “A lot of contractors use Excel and other tools that employ complex formulae for project estimation, despite facing issues with different versions of the same application.

Our estimation tool employs a logic engine to estimate expenses and zonal breakdown of costs associated with raw materials, equipment, and workflow overheads

To address these constraints, we utilize a logic engine within our estimation application to calculate expenses and zonal breakdown of costs associated with raw materials, equipment, and workflow overheads,” explains Hansen, highlighting the merits of the ProDBX Easy Estimating app. It allows contractors to estimate how much raw material is needed for a particular process, design automation capabilities around purchase orders, nullify vendors electronically, and optimize inventory management for multiple geographies and branches of an organization. The app tracks work orders that are assigned to subcontractors and staff, ensuring that adequate communication is established between them through a vendor portal. All of these operations are orchestrated through a project management workbench that can be used by project leads or managers to oversee and supervise multiple dependencies of a construction space at the same time. They can effectively simplify processes such as scheduling, workflow resolution, and delay mitigation, thereby obtaining complete visibility into a workflow through the workbench module.

The sophistication of the Easy Estimating app and the complete ProDBX suite has successfully been demonstrated in several instances, wherein the firm assisted clients not only with their business processes but also in increasing customer satisfaction. Some of these organizations—4 of the top 10 pool builders in the country—have collaborated with ProDBX. The clients were utilizing multiple products to streamline different operations prior to their partnership with ProDBX. “Our customers often refer to ProDBX solutions in company newsletters, which shed light on the increase in customer satisfaction metrics and business growth rates,” adds Hansen. In addition to providing a unified cloud suite, ProDBX ensures that client data is safeguarded against vagaries of security and unforeseen circumstances. It also monitors the scope for scalability, effectively delivering a flexible licensing portfolio to its customer base. These advantages have allowed ProDBX to develop harmonious relationships with multiple construction companies that consider it an ally and an extension of their team in the highly competitive construction landscape.
